Kuningasidea
Founded in Helsinki’s Käpylä district in 2009, Kuningasidea is a band that draws inspiration from reggae and rap. Over the course of its fifteen-year journey, the group has blended genres into a unique sound through their signature musical style.
Their debut album, On uusi aika, released in 2012, features the hit single Enemmän duoo ku sooloo, which became one of the biggest songs of the year and still receives radio play today. Their success was recognized with the “Newcomer of the Year” title at the 2012 Funky Awards and a nomination in the same category at the Emma Gala. Their second album, Nimi on enne, was released in September 2014 and included songs like Pohjolan tuulet, one of the most-played radio hits in Finland that year, as well as the successful single Seis maailma.
Their third album, released in the summer of 2018, continued their success, with Sä saat mut becoming a platinum-certified hit. In 2023, Kuningasidea made a comeback with their album Sinä, minä ja aika, alongside an extensive tour across Finland. They have continued their streak into 2024, releasing the new single Suomalaista unelmaa in early summer.
The band’s long-standing friendship and shared passion for music shine through in everything they do. Their concerts, packed with hit songs, are guaranteed to lift spirits—Kuningasidea is at its best live and is an experience not to be missed!
