Sauna
At Lempeä Sauna & Design, the Finnish sauna experience meets the rhythm of the Grand Rowing Festival. During the main event days, the sauna area transforms into a relaxed lounge space for rowers, offering a place to unwind, recover in sauna, and connect after time on the water. On the backyard errace you can enjoy the scenic Saimaa view while enjoying refreshing drinks.
Lempeä is a hub for rowers. Many rowers are gathering up here and pulling up their boat after the finishing their race. The last pull over the finishing line helps you almost to slide on the shores of Lempeä where relaxing sauna awaits!
Sauna is available and free for all rowers after their participation. Saunas are open only for rowers on FRI 11-24, SAT 11-22, SUN 11-15.
Cloakroom is located at Lempeä, where all rowers can leave their personal belongings whilst out security staff is looking for your belongings.
Adventure rowers equipment storage is together with cloakroom services. Thursday’s and Saturday’s adventure rowers can bring their camping equipment here for their overnight stay in Varviranta. Equipment will be transported to Varviranta by our staff.
Relaxation over the weekend! In addition to sauna facilities, we have a Kick-off start for our festival on Thursday 9th at Lempeä with live music.
Live music on Thursday 9th. Marc Kenny from UK will be performing at our international Get-together event on Thursday 9th starting at 5pm.
For other visitors, the sauna is available on Thursday and Sunday with separate sauna tickets, which can be purchased via our online store below.

Bistro & Café Lempeä
The experience continues beyond the sauna. Bistro & Café Lempeä serves refreshing drinks, light meals, and summer flavors throughout the weekend – from morning coffee to evening cocktails. Just outside, a small shared wooden boat named Liplatus awaits. Oars can be borrowed from the café with a deposit, offering a unique chance to head out onto Lake Saimaa for a peaceful moment on the water.
Design store Marimakasiini
The Marimakasiini design store brings together Finnish design heritage and local craftsmanship. Inspired by iconic Finnish brands such as Marimekko, the store features carefully selected Nordic design products alongside regional delicacies from local producers.
Many of these products can also be tasted and enjoyed at the café. Whether you’re looking for souvenirs or meaningful design pieces, Marimakasiini invites you to take a piece of Sulkava with you.
